In 1936, the company began distilling sugarcane, transforming agricultural expertise into the art of fine spirits production. Since then, Varela Hermanos S.A. has become the leading distillery in Panama, blending traditional methods with innovation. With over 1,200 hectares of plantations and a production capacity of 75,000 tons of sugarcane per year, the company employs 800 people, overseeing every stage from harvest to bottling of the renowned Panamanian rums.
