Bordeaux: Pomerol

Pomerol, a small but prestigious appellation on the right bank of Bordeaux, is renowned for rich, intense, and velvety red wines.

The main grape variety is Merlot, often accompanied by Cabernet Franc and rarely by Cabernet Sauvignon. The terroir is distinguished by a complex mosaic: deep blue clays that ensure power and structure, gravelly sands that provide finesse and readiness, and the famous crasse de fer, a rich layer of iron oxide that imparts mineral notes and a unique elegance.

This diversity allows for wines of great concentration, balance, and extraordinary longevity, without the need for an official classification.
