Bolgheri White
In the renowned region of Tuscany, where the hills meet the sparkling Tyrrhenian coast, Bolgheri Bianco is born, a wine that embodies the bright and refined soul of this land. Located along the Etruscan coast, Bolgheri is famous for its superb red wines but is also the cradle of whites of unmatched elegance, capable of surprising even the most discerning palates.
Bolgheri Bianco is a harmonious blend, mainly composed of Vermentino, Sauvignon Blanc, and often enriched by other white varieties such as Viognier and Trebbiano. This mix of grapes, grown under the warm Tuscan sun and caressed by sea breezes, gives the wine a lively freshness and an unmistakable aromatic complexity.
The history of Bolgheri Bianco is relatively recent, but its development has been rapid and consistent. In the 1990s, local producers began experimenting with white varieties, discovering that the clay soils and Mediterranean climate of the area could produce fresh and mineral whites, perfect to accompany seafood cuisine and traditional Tuscan dishes.
From an organoleptic perspective, Bolgheri Bianco presents itself with a bright straw yellow color, sometimes with greenish reflections. On the nose, it is an explosion of aromas: fresh citrus, white flowers, herbal notes, and a delicate minerality reminiscent of flint and sea salt. On the palate, it reveals a balanced structure, with a marked acidity that makes it pleasantly fresh and persistent. The flavors of white-fleshed fruits, like apple and peach, combine with hints of almond and a light spiciness, offering a long and satisfying finish.
Bolgheri Bianco is the ideal companion for a wide range of dishes. It pairs perfectly with seafood, shellfish, and fish appetizers, but it is also an excellent choice to accompany fresh cheeses and light vegetarian dishes. Thanks to its versatility and freshness, it is perfect for enjoying during a sunset aperitif, taking in the sea view.
