Kurayoshi

In the enchanted lands of Japan, where tradition and innovation merge in a harmonious embrace, stands the small but prestigious distillery Kurayoshi. This fascinating reality, although young on the world stage, has already carved out a place of honor in the hearts of whisky enthusiasts. Nestled in an area that enhances the purity and quality of raw materials, Kurayoshi represents a bridge between centuries-old Japanese tradition and a modern vision of distillation.
The heart of Kurayoshi's production is malted barley, carefully cultivated and selected, which, together with the crystal-clear water from the Japanese mountains, forms the basis of a whisky that is an ode to minerality and balance. The distillery is known for its approach that respects and enhances the surrounding nature, combining traditional techniques with a contemporary sensibility that aims at sustainability and authenticity.
Among the standout labels, the Kurayoshi Pure Malt stands out for its elegance and complexity. With notes that evoke hints of vanilla, delicate spices, and a touch of peat, this whisky tells a story of refined harmony and artisanal wisdom. Each sip is a journey through the foggy mountains of Japan, an experience that speaks of time, patience, and mastery.
We invite all enthusiasts and curious individuals to discover the wonders of the Kurayoshi distillery on Vino45. A unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the world of Japanese whisky and be enchanted by a product that embodies the perfect balance between tradition and innovation.

THE WHISKY
The Pure Malt Whisky The Kurayoshi '12 Years Old' by Matsui Whisky is a blend of single malts aged for at least 12 years in barrels that previously contained bourbon whisky and bottled at a classic 43% vol. Bouquet of candied orange, vanilla, grains, and a slight floral note. On the palate, notes of barley malt combine with those of apple, pear, and green grass. A short finish with notes of vanilla, honey, lemon zest, and ginger.
THE DISTILLERY
The Matsui Distillery is located on the coast of the Tottori Prefecture – in the southern area of Honshu Island – well known for its sandy dunes. The whiskies produced by Matsui are distilled with pure spring water from the Daisen Mountains. The production of Matsui is small and artisanal, and the available stocks of Kurayoshi Whisky are very limited. This makes this collection particularly sought after and valuable.
