A family, the passion for wine
The passion for the Vine and Wine is the hallmark of this family business founded in 1984 by Nazareno Pola, which still oversees its production from the vineyard to the cellar, skillfully combining ancient methods with modern technologies, passion with reason.
Today, Stefano Pola continues to run the company with the same philosophy as his father. An evolution that has led to AndreolaTo fully understand the "character" of Prosecco SuperioreDOCG, the evolution of the grape variety, its different adaptability to the territory and climatic diversity, ensuring the client a high-quality product controlled at every stage of processing, in full compliance with the new legal provisions on supply chain traceability.
The territory of the Prosecco
The prosperity of these areas lies, of course, in a combination of geological and climatic factors.
The production area of Valdobbiadene-Conegliano cultivates vines on approximately 3,600 hectares of land at an altitude ranging between 50 and 500 meters. s.l.m. and annually produces an average of 400,000 quintals of grapes. In the heart of these hills, specifically in the territory of S. Pietro di Barbozza, there stretches a microzone of 106 selected hectares from which Valdobbiadene is produced. Prosecco Superior of Cartizze.
The multiple chemical-physical characteristics of the soils, the exposures, the slopes, the altitudes, and the microclimates determine the diversity that characterizes the Prosecco wines cultivated in these hilly areas, which consist of parallel chains extending in an East-West direction, embraced by the Piave River to the west, and the Meschio River and Crevada stream to the east.
The area is also divided into two districts by the Soligo River: the western one called Mandamento di Valdobbiadene (which includes the hills of Valdobbiadene, Combai, Miane, Farra di Soligo, Soligo, Col S. Martino, and Vidor) and the Mandamento di Conegliano (which includes the slopes of Conegliano, Carpesica, Ogliano, Feletto, Refrontolo, Susegana, Solighetto, and Pieve di Soligo).
These parallel chains of hills are composed of terrains of different geological origins. There are three eras of formation: the secondary era (Lower Cretaceous, Middle Cretaceous, Upper Cretaceous), the tertiary (Miocene, Pliocene, Pontian), and the quaternary era.
The hills of Conegliano (S. Pietro di Feletto and Susegana) were formed as a result of alluvial phenomena that began in the Miocene and continued until the glacial period; these are generally heavy soils and partially ferruginous with a dark red color.
The area of Vittorio Veneto (Carpesica, Scomigo, Ogliano, and Colle Umberto) is characterized by permeable, deep soils with abundant rocky material and has a morainic origin from the Quaternary formation.
The slopes that extend from Serravalle westward towards Cison di Valmarino, up to S. Pietro di Barbozza, consist of clayey limestones, marls, sandstones, and Miocene mollusks. These are the soils with the most renowned physical-chemical characteristics for the production of prosecco.
Finally, the hills that descend from Valdobbiadene towards Vidor are very different from each other, as they are made up of an alternation of morainic deposits, alluvial terraces, and alluvial fans.
The land of Valdobbiadene-Conegliano therefore represents a unique meeting point between history and different geological phenomena, whose mixture, combined with a significant temperature variation generated by the nearby mountains, has given us soil capable of producing the distinctive fragrances, aromas, and harmonies of our beloved Prosecco.
The geographical heart of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG is located between the two towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. Here we find a landscape of rare beauty, with gentle hills embroidered with irregular vineyards that follow their contour.
The glaciers that descended in ancient times from the Dolomites and carved a path that later became the bed of the Piave River are at the origin of the current physical configuration of the territory. This resulted in a terrain that absorbed valuable elements from the erosive process, which we find today in the vine.
The good balance of the soil's chemical-physical components and the particular microclimate, characterized by strong temperature variations and constant humidity, help to characterize the fruits of the vineyards in this area for their phenolic components and especially for their aromatic complexity.
This geographical typicity is what you will find in the wines branded as AndreolaSure, please provide the text you would like me to translate from Italian to English.
a prosecco of high quality that owes everything to the respect and celebration of its territorial origins.
