The Ron de Guatemala Spiced 'Cobre' is a Limited Edition from Botran inspired by Ponche, a traditional Guatemalan beverage made from vanilla, cardamom, cloves, and ginger, the essential elements of the oldest drinks used in Guatemalan festivities. These botanicals are distilled in copper (cobre) pot stills within special baskets that allow the alcoholic vapors to absorb their aromatic nuances. Combined with a blend of young and aged honey rum using the Solera method at over 2,300 meters above sea level, it results in a rum with a long and complex structure, but with unique and delicate spicy notes. It is produced in limited quantities of 10,000 bottles.

Botran

In the heart of Guatemala, where the mountains rise majestically against the sky and the wind carries the sweet scent of sugar cane, lies the historic house Botran. A name that resonates among spirits enthusiasts, Botran is synonymous with quality and tradition in the world of rum. The origins of this distillery date back many years, when the Botran family decided to cultivate sugar cane in the fertile Guatemalan lands, leveraging a unique terroir to create spirits of rare elegance.
In a territory where nature reigns supreme, Botran has managed to establish a deep connection with the environment, refining a production philosophy that enhances the characteristics of local sugar cane. Botran rums are known for their aging process at high altitudes, where the cool temperatures and pure mountain air impart an inimitable aromatic complexity to the spirits. Tradition and innovation blend in every bottle, giving life to rums that are sweet, spicy, and perfectly balanced.
Among the most famous labels stands out Ron Botran Añejo, a spirit that tells a story of craftsmanship and passion. THE RUM
The Ron de Guatemala Spiced 'Cobre' is a Limited Edition from Botran inspired by Ponche, a traditional Guatemalan beverage, and is made from vanilla, cardamom, cloves, and ginger, the essential elements of the oldest drinks used in Guatemalan festivities. These botanicals are distilled in copper stills (cobre) inside special baskets that allow the alcoholic vapors to absorb their aromatic nuances. Combined with a mix of young and aged virgin honey rums using the Solera method at over 2,300 meters above sea level, it results in a rum with a long and complex structure, but with unique and delicate spicy notes. It is produced in a limited quantity of 10,000 bottles.
THE DISTILLERY
The Botran family is commonly known for producing sugarcane in Guatemala, but in 1939 they decided to start a journey by establishing Industria Licorera Quetzalteca. The five brothers agreed that the best place to age rum in Guatemala was Quetzaltenango. Since that day, they have been involved in every detail regarding their rum production. Although the nurturing process has evolved, it all started with the aging process called "Sistema Solera". This process involves the blending of young and old rums, as they mellow for years in white oak barrels. They are the first family to produce Guatemalan rum, and today they continue to produce one of the best rums in the world. The high-quality rums Solera 1893 and Reserva have won numerous awards worldwide for their complexity, depth, and distinctive flavor.
