THE DISTILLERY

Started in 1846 by Filippo Mazzetti, the family's distilling activity has been passed down from father to son to this day through six generations. Every year, in the Antica Distilleria di Altavilla, the best pomace from Monferrato is collected to create several single-variety grappas. Obtained from very fresh pomace and distilled with steam stills, after a careful and meticulous removal of heads and tails, the grappas are aged for several years in fine oak barrels and in cherry, chestnut, almond, and French oak barriques; until a complete harmony of taste and aroma is achieved, maintaining intact floral and fruity notes.
