Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 'Campolongo di Torbe' by Masi is the most aristocratic and refined wine of the Cantina Privata Boscaini. Made from Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes, sourced from the homonymous cru, famous since the 12th century for its microclimatic characteristics and basalt and tuff soils, it represents the essence of the art of Appassimento. The grapes are hand-picked and left to dry for about 120 days, then vinified slowly and aged for over 3 years in oak barrels, followed by a long resting period in the bottle. The result is a wine of undisputed class, with notes of sour cherry, dried figs, cocoa, and oriental spices, extraordinarily velvety and deep. The handwritten label emphasizes the precious and unique character of this Amarone, endowed with incredible aging potential. Ideal with game, braised meats, and aged cheeses.

Color: Intense garnet red with ruby reflections. Clear and consistent, it suggests a great structure.
Bouquet: Broad, deep, and layered. Distinct notes of cherry in alcohol, dried plum, bitter cocoa, tobacco, sweet spices (vanilla, cinnamon), leather, and licorice stand out. With evolution, balsamic notes and aromatic herbs also emerge. Olfactory complexity of a great aging wine.
Taste: Enveloping, full, warm, and velvety, with dense yet silky tannins, perfectly integrated. The structure is imposing, balanced by a lively acidity that supports the sip. Long, persistent finish, with returns of ripe fruit, spices, and dark chocolate. Excellent aging potential in the bottle.

THE WINE

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 'Campolongo di Torbe' di Masi is the most aristocratic and refined wine of the Boscaini Private Cellar. Made from Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes from the homonymous cru, famous since the 12th century for its microclimatic characteristics and basaltic and tuff soils, it represents the essence of the art of Appassimento. The grapes are handpicked and allowed to dry for about 120 days, then fermented slowly and aged for over 3 years in oak barrels, followed by a long resting period in the bottle. The result is a wine of undeniable class, with notes of sour cherries, dried figs, cocoa, and oriental spices, extraordinarily velvety and deep. The handwritten label emphasizes the precious and unique character of this Amarone, endowed with incredible aging potential. Ideal with wild game, braised dishes, and aged cheeses.
THE COMPANY

Veneto is one of the most renowned regions in Italy from a winemaking perspective. A varied and multifaceted territory, always in ferment, with emerging production realities alongside historic and prestigious names. Among the latter, one cannot fail to mention the winery Masi, a family business for seven generations that has belonged to the Boscaini family since the end of the 18th century, but which today represents one of the most important and authoritative Italian wine brands in the world.
With extensive vineyards both in Italy and Argentina, where the Tupungato line gives voice to the terroir of Mendoza, the heart of the company, with the winery and the management center, remains firmly anchored to Valpolicella, the place from which the entire winemaking project began. Currently managed by a well-coordinated technical group gathered in a Board of Directors chaired by Sandro Boscaini, the company, linked to the millennia-old Venetian civilization, has deep roots in a historic heritage made up of exceptional terroirs and great indigenous grapes.
Moreover, combining the oldest traditions with the most modern technology, the winery Masi is constantly active in the field of research and experimentation, to the point that it has contributed to rewriting the history of appassimento for the production of Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG, the symbolic wine of the territory, as well as being a precursor in the recovery and use of ancient Veronese grape varieties that were almost extinct, such as the Oseleta. And it is precisely from the indigenous grapes of these territories, processed according to traditional winemaking techniques, that unique, majestic, and famous wines in the world are born, such as Amarone itself, of which Masi produces probably the most qualified and extensive range currently available on the international market, with “Mazzano” and “Costasera” Riserva always at the top of both Italian and international industry guides.
