The Champagne Rosé 'Royale Réserve' from Philipponnat comes to life from the classic blend used to create French sparkling wines: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and a touch of Pinot Meunier. It is fruity and elegant, with an intense profile that showcases the style of the house. Vinified in barrel with the addition of Pinot Noir and reserve wines, it matures on the lees for 36 months. Notes of small red fruits and citrus are enhanced by a fine and delicate aromatic texture, with good freshness and great elegance. A Champagne dedicated to the most sophisticated palates. Philipponnat recommends it both as an aperitif and throughout the meal, paired with smoked fish and lightly cooked white meats.

THE WINE
The Champagne Rosé 'Royale Réserve' by Philipponnat comes to life from the classic blend used to create French sparkling wines: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and a touch of Pinot Meunier. It is fruity and elegant, with an intense profile that reflects the house's style. Vinified in oak with the addition of Pinot Noir and reserve wines, it matures on the lees for 36 months. Notes of small red fruits and citrus are enhanced by a fine and delicate aromatic texture, with good freshness and great elegance. A Champagne dedicated to the most sophisticated palates. Philipponnat recommends it both as an aperitif and throughout the meal, pairing it with smoked fish and light-prepared white meats.
THE HOUSE
The house of Phillipponnat, universally recognized as one of the most important Champagne houses, was founded in 1522 in Mareuil-sur-Ay. This house had the privilege of being a supplier to the King of France Louis XIV and, over the centuries, has maintained an international leading role. The village of Mareuil, practically a single street lined with small vignerons, is located in the center of Champagne, at the point where the three main areas of the region meet: Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Cote des Blancs.
Philipponnat owns 20 hectares of vineyards located, in addition to Mareuil, also in the municipalities of Ay, Mutigny, and Avenay, all beautifully exposed to the South. The excellence of the vineyards is represented by the Clos des Goisses: 5.5 hectares of vineyard so well-suited that it allows for the production of a vintage even in less favorable years. The term “goisses” is the feminine form of “gois,” which means “very difficult to work,” indeed the slope ranging from 30° to 45° makes the use of agricultural machinery impossible, so all the work done in the “clos” is carried out by hand, as in past centuries. From this small vineyard comes a historic label of the house that has become very famous in Italy also because it was favored by Gianni Agnelli. Pierre Philipponnat purchased this wonderful vineyard in 1935 from the Visconti d’Ay family and today it is considered a treasure of inestimable value.
Today Charles Philipponnat, heir to this glorious family tradition, with great passion and expertise continues the work of his predecessors to uphold the name and prestige of the house. The unique and inimitable style of the house is the result of centuries-old savoir-faire both in the vineyard and in the cellar, which includes careful and scrupulous vineyard management, linked to a deep environmental sensitivity, and a vast heritage of reserve wines aged in wood using the solera method. Thus, Philipponnat Champagnes are born, known all over the world, among the best interpreters of this type.
