THE WINE

Cincuenta y Cinco of Bodega Chacra comes from vineyards planted in 1955, which rest gently on a sea of pebbles, typical of cultivated soils. Biodynamic, it is fermented at very low temperatures, to strengthen the floral characteristics of wine. Cincuenta y Cinco has the most "high tension" of all Chacra wines, while maintaining a smooth ease. There is a wonderful purity in this wine that smells of strawberries and iodine. This refined red blend smells of blueberries and cherry fruits crushed with smoke, game and minerals. A pleasant length.

THE PHILISOPHY

Chacra was created by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta in 2004 with the intention of finding the most unobstructed expression of the climate, micro-climate, and terrior of Mainqué in the Río Negro region of Patagonia.
Respecting the environment by following biodynamic and organic principles, Piero strives to make wines that are transparent, pure, delicate, and floral with a strong minerality.
In Patagonia, a “chacra” is a special piece of land destined to pomology. At the same time, chacras are vital energy centers that provide us with the ability to connect with the whole universe, with everything living and vibrating. In its nourishment, in the marriage with every meal, wine is the companion of pleasure and sensitivity. Wine is intimate and touches all our senses. Chacra aims to enhance that connection.

Respecting and enhancing the community of Chacra is of the utmost importance. We preserve ungrafted old vines, invest in apiculture, and organically and biodynamically farm. We see Chacra wines as a consequence of nature and a reflection of our true respect for the ecosystem.

THE COMPANY

The Aulan family produces wines from different regions of the world, from France - country of origin - to Hungary, to arrive in Argentina, where since 1998 owns the company Alta Vista. Fifteen kilometers south of Mendoza, in the heart of Chacras de Coria, are the wineries with the best cutting-edge technologies. The constant pursuit of the highest quality, starting from the grapes to get to the finished product, is the malbec and torrontés and the two main varieties to be fully exploited thanks to the combination of French savoir faire with Argentine passion. Bodega Alta Vista now records an annual average production of 1.7 million bottles of high quality wine. Following a research philosophy aimed at obtaining the best expressions from various terroirs, and being able to exploit vineyards planted in the renowned Mendoza and Salta areas, Alta Vista is ranked among the most important and prestigious Argentine companies.
