Pinot Noir 'Schistes' by Jean-Luc Jamet is a material and spicy wine, pure Pinot Noir. Jean-Luc Jamet is an icon who produces some of the most exquisite wines of the Côte-Rôtie. The Schiste vineyard is ideally located above Ampuis, on soils of schist origin from vines of about 10 years. Manual harvest, passage in stainless steel for 15 days, then aged "sur lie" (under fine lees) for 7 months in 50% oak barrels (10% new) and 50% stainless steel tank. The wine is then assembled without filtration. This Pinot Noir is powerful and deep, with hints of raspberry and cherry, smoked meat and barbecue. In the mouth crunchy red fruits and earthy and spicy tannins. Ideal with game dishes, smoked meats and grilled vegetables.
