THE COGNAC

'L'Oublie' by Lhéraud is a delicious Cognac aged for over 20 years. Expect elegance, balance and sophistication in abundance and look for touches of vanilla, chocolate and spices. The Lhéraud family has been cultivating Cognac and Armagnac since 1802, working with their own grapes. They are renowned for their stocks of old rare Cognacs and for the exceptional quality found in all their products.

THE DISTILLERY

From 1680, in a small town in the Charente, lies the Domaine de Lheraud in the heart of the Petite Champagne. Alexandre Lhèraud began to cultivate iterrens in the region and in 1795 his son, Augustine, received almost 25 hectares of land from Lord Bouteville. Like most of the small producers of Cognac, the Lhèraud family sold their cognacs to the great Domaine, but retained a part of them that they allowed to age in their private cellar called "Paradis". In 1882 Eugene built the first distillery on the farm, immersed in Grande Champagne, received as a dowry by his wife. A history long centuries in which several generations have followed that have carried on with the grit, tenacity and passion the art of distillation and aging of Cognac, until reaching Guy Lheraudche since 1960 continues to grow the prestige and fame of this Domaine: the last generation of the secrets that have evolved through the years together with their precious eaux-de-vie, in a world where aging is a process to be continually perfected and maturity an extremely treasure scope. All the bottles are the pure expression of the terroir in which they are produced and the craftsmanship of the Lheraud family. Baron Gaston Legrand is a Domaine whose history begins more than a century ago. In 1998 the elderly owners, without heirs, decided to sell the distillery. Guy Lheraud, their buddy friend, knows the quality of the spirits and decides to take over the property while maintaining the buildings and the collaborators that until then had worked in the distillery. The Bas Armagnac Legrand, still distilled by the old owner, are kept in French oak barrels separately for one thousandths and bottled only if expressly requested. Cognac Lheraud and Bas Armagnac Legrand, two excellences that bear the signature of men who have made the distillation their art and their pride of aging.
