The name Mesa, which in Sardinian and in Spanish means table, dinner table, is in just four letters the essence of the cellar. Food, banquet, maternal love, simplicity and perfumes .... the land of Sardinia. Thus it was born the Mesa winery, as a declaration of love for Sardinia, a combination of beauty and goodness, a celebration of his generosity and its culture, through one of its treasures: the wine. So you realize the dream of Gavino Sanna, the Italian advertising known, to create something truly extraordinary, unique and simple as his land, for his land.
It 'a candid structure, minimalist and unusual in Sulcis, which stands on the gently sloping hills overlooking Porto Pino. It has a modern and solar shape that combines beautifully the colors of the vineyards and the Mediterranean vegetation that surrounds it, from where it can be observed, even in the distance, in all its brightness.
The portal and the great outer wall recreate the charm of the Mesa wines. Within 5000 square meters of space on three levels, modern and structurally functional, based on the idea that "grape and wine" should be treated with a particular emphasis on sight and followed throughout their course of treatment thanks immense glass walls. The property covers 70 hectares, located in the heart of Sulcis Iglesiente, southwest of Sardinia. Most vignetisi located in the territory of Sant'Anna Arresi, in a breezy valley from the mistral and surrounded by the sea. The vineyards are espalier, mainly spurred cordon and a percentage sapling on own roots, according to the different conditions and terrain displays. The climate in the production areas is Mediterranean, that is characterized by scarce rains irregularly distributed throughout the year and concentrated almost entirely in autumn winter seasons, characterized by frequent wind mistral. Temperatures are high during the spring and summer, mild in autumn, not particularly cold, but mostly dry during the winter. The soil of the vineyards and sandy and calcareous clay, rich in texture, and medium textured, with moderate organic matter and sub-alkaline reaction. And 'sufficient levels of minerals entities which determines the quality. The harvest takes place from second to third week of September, strictly by hand with collection in boxes.
