Pinot Noir 'White Label' 2018 (750 ml.) - Tilia Estate

Pinot Noir 'White Label' by Tilia Estate is produced from pure Pinot Noir grapes coming from 16-year-old plants from the Potoče vineyard, Vipava Valley, Slovenia. Well-ripe grapes harvested by hand with selection of the bunches, before maceration a part of the must is removed to concentrate tannins and color, 10 days of maceration in steel. Aging for 16 months in new French Louis Latour oak barriques. Intense aroma of ripe red fruits such as cherries and blackberries, notes of dried plums and jammy fruits; balsamic note, smoky and earthy scent. When tasted it is fresh, elegant, full-bodied and persistent with important tannins. Annual production of only 900 bottles.

Tilia Estate was founded in Potočje in the Vipava Valley in 1996 by Melita and Matjaž Lemut. The brand of this winery is linden. The silhouette of this tree is from the first vineyard planted and still adorns the label of all the wines today. On 10 hectares of vineyards, scattered in exceptional locations along the Vipava valley, varieties of Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Yellow Muscat are grown. The key factors of viticultural technology are balanced growth, low yields and minimal use of pesticides. This winery calls itself 'The House of Pinot'. Their aim is to produce exceptional wine, bring it closer and offer it to people whose wine is part of their personal culture. This has been a key guiding principle in operations. The wine must reflect the quality of the grape, the creative idea, the precision of the execution and the communication with those for whom it is intended.
