Travaglini

Nestled among the green hills of Alto Piemonte, the Travaglini winery stands as a bastion of Piedmontese winemaking tradition. Its history is a tale of passion and dedication, passed down through generations, which has succeeded in enhancing one of the most noble and challenging grape varieties: Nebbiolo. This winery is known not only for the quality of its wines but also for its distinctive bent bottle, a signature symbol that makes each of its creations immediately recognizable.
Travaglini is devoted to the production of Gattinara, one of the most renowned DOCG denominations in northern Piedmont. Here, Nebbiolo finds its fullest expression, thanks to a unique terroir that imparts an elegant, fresh, and extraordinarily long-lived character to the wines. The production philosophy of Travaglini is rooted in respect for traditions, with a constant focus on quality and authenticity. Each bottle tells a story of the land, culture, and profound enological knowledge.
The Gattinara Riserva is the flagship of the winery, a wine that embodies the quintessence of Nebbiolo from Alto Piemonte. Its complex aromas and fresh, mineral notes make it an ideal companion for those wishing to explore the most delicate and fascinating nuances of this variety. The elegance and aging potential of the Gattinara Riserva make it a collectible wine, capable of evolving gracefully and delivering emotions even years later.
We invite wine enthusiasts to discover on Vino45 the extraordinary labels signed by Travaglini. A journey into the heart of Alto Piemonte, where tradition and innovation meet to create wines of rare beauty and complexity.

THE WINE

The Gattinara 'Tre Vigne' by Travaglini is produced only in the best vintages and is the result of a careful selection of nebbiolo grapes from 3 historic vineyards of the estate. Pure nebbiolo, it ages for a total of 40 months, of which 30 in Slavonian oak barrels. 20% of the mass for 10 months in smaller wood. It is followed by a bottle aging of 8 months.
THE COMPANY

The Winery Travaglini, located in the heart of the Gattinara hills, includes 59 hectares of vineyard-dedicated land, of which 44 are cultivated with vines.
From the Nebbiolo grape, the “Gattinara DOCG” is produced, a wine of great structure and longevity, and the “Nebbiolo DOC Coste della Sesia”, a young, fruity wine that is easy to drink. It is a family-run business where the experience and passion for quality of Arturo Travaglini, who was already producing Gattinara in 1958, has been inherited by his son Giancarlo. Today, this prestigious company is managed by daughter Cinzia and her husband Massimo (Winemaker).
Throughout all these years, at Travaglini, the passion for work, the commitment to achieving a qualitatively superior production, and the desire to always obtain results of the highest levels have remained the same.
