Fixin Hervelets 1er Cru by Domaine Bart is a pure Pinot Noir from the lands of Marsannay, in the northernmost part of the Còte D'Or in Burgundy. This area is a candidate for Premier Cru soon. From a slow aging in wood, a wine is born that is an expression of elegance, power, balance and exaltation of aromas. A red that already gives emotions, but that in the future will amaze for its complexity and depth. Ideal with medium-aged cheeses and with red and white meat-based main courses. Excellent with a grilled fillet of beef.

THE WINE

THE COMPANY
The company formed by Martin Bart and his sister Odille is located in Marsannay-la-Côte, in Burgundy, in the northernmost wine-growing town of the Côte d'Or, just a few kilometers from Gevrey-Chambertin. The team expanded in the mid-2000s with the arrival in the company of Pierre, Odille's son. 70% of the total vineyards of the Domaine, about 22 hectares, are located in the municipality of belonging, while the remainder is made up of some parcels in Fixin Les Hervelets, Chambolle-Musigny Les Véroilles, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze and Bonnes Mares. From these lands, wines of all kinds are created, white, rosé and red, each with its own personality and character. The Marsannay terroir is represented by several cuvées, among which we find Les Champ Salomon, Finottes and Les Grand Vignes. All these assemblages express different types of terrain, which, although only a few kilometers apart, are able to give life to products that are completely different from each other. Only 70% of the total production is sold under the Domaine Bart brand, while the remaining part of the grapes is sold to the 'négoce' companies. As regards the activity in the vineyard, the philosophy is based on respect for nature and the surrounding environment: there is in fact no use of herbicides, fertilizers or chemicals that could cause damage to the ecosystem. Maniacal attention to detail, getting the most out of the vineyards, but always following the ancient traditions with the utmost seriousness.
