Terre Siciliane Frappato IGT 'Junco' by Pellegrino is an elegant and characterful red, made from 100% Frappato grapes grown in a single 2.5-hectare plot within the Gazzerotta Estate in Mazara del Vallo. Its name recalls the reeds (“giunchi”) surrounding a small lake near the vineyard, rooted in mineral-rich clay soils. Harvested in September, the grapes undergo slow fermentation at low temperatures and gentle skin maceration. The wine then matures for 4 months in stainless steel, preserving its freshness and varietal purity. It shows a delicate garnet-red color and opens with intense notes of raspberry, wild strawberry, rose, and violet. The palate is smooth and well-balanced, with fine tannins, vibrant freshness, and pleasant sapidity. A versatile and modern red, perfect with cured meats, cheeses, light meat dishes, and flavorful fish such as tuna or swordfish.

Color: Bright pale ruby red, typical of pure Frappato, with light purple hues on the edges that testify to its youth.
Bouquet: Fragrant and inviting. It opens with notes of crunchy red fruits such as cherry, pomegranate and raspberry, accompanied by floral hints of geranium and wild rose. Citrus hints and a light spiciness of white pepper also emerge, which enrich its complexity without weighing it down.
Taste: Fresh, lean and juicy, with a very fine and barely perceptible tannic texture. The marked acidity gives dynamism and lengthens the sip, which closes on fruity and balsamic memories. It is an agile wine, very drinkable, perfect to accompany light dishes or to be enjoyed slightly chilled.
