Barbera d'Alba 'Gallina' by La Spinetta is made in the cru of the same name in Neive in the province of Cuneo from 55-year-old vines. It is a Barbera that presents floral and balsamic notes, with a docile acidity and an unexpected tannic texture. Maceration and alcoholic fermentation take place in tanks at a controlled temperature for an average period of 14-15 days. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in French oak barrels, second and third passage, and subsequent refinement for about 18 months. It is then refined in the bottle for about 12 months. It immediately strikes for its bouquet with hints of ripe raspberry, violet and vanilla. On the palate it is fresh and full-bodied, with floral and balsamic notes. The finish is long and harmonious. Only 7,500 bottles are produced.
