Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC 'Bernardina' 2022 (750 ml.) Ceretto

Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC 'Bernardina' by Ceretto comes from the historic Bernardina estate in Alba, one of the most renowned areas for Nebbiolo. Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, it is cultivated sustainably and vinified to highlight the varietal’s natural elegance. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by 12–14 months of aging in large oak casks, which preserve the purity of the fruit and enhance its depth. On the nose, it reveals notes of raspberry, dried rose, violet, and gentle spices. The palate is harmonious and fresh, with fine-grained tannins and a long, refined finish. Ideal with roasts, braised white meats, tajarin with rabbit ragù, and semi-aged cheeses. A classic and authentic Nebbiolo d’Alba, reflecting Ceretto’s signature elegance.

Color: clear and bright ruby red, of medium intensity, with delicate garnet reflections that are just beginning to emerge on the edge of the glass, typical of the variety and the youth of the vintage.

Bouquet: fine and elegant: clear floral notes of violet and dried rose emerge, followed by hints of fresh red fruits such as raspberry and cherry. In the background, very delicate spicy hints can be perceived, including white pepper and a nuance of nutmeg, resulting from the refinement in large wood, well-measured and respectful of the fruit.

Taste: harmonious and smooth, with a fresh attack and a fine and well-integrated tannic texture. The body is slender but with depth and persistence, with a clean finish that recalls the floral and fruity sensations perceived on the nose. The balance between acidity and structure makes it versatile at the table, already enjoyable but with the potential to evolve positively in the short term.

Overall Rating: 88/100
