Barbera d'Alba Superiore 'Funtani' by Cordero di Montezemolo is made from vineyards located near an old water source at the foot of the slope. Very sunny position, old vines and a natural production of few bunches per plant are the foundations of this product. Made in 1998 for the first time, it wants to express the noblest and most complex potential of this extraordinary Piedmontese vine. A production of a few thousand bottles at the end of a process of aging in wood for over a year, followed by a further year of rest in the bottle. Sublime when young but also to be appreciated at 12-15 years and beyond.

THE COMPANY
Are currently 19 generations from 1340 have followed in the management of Monfalletto properties in the municipality of La Morra, in the middle of the Barolo wine production area. The winery is located in the fabulous terroir of the Langhe, in the middle of the Barolo region, known for the production of wines that have made Piedmont famous throughout the world.
Even today the property Cordero di Montezemolo of Monfalletto family is entirely family run. Giovanni Cordero di Montezemolo and his children Elena and Alberto are the protagonists of this millennium.
The historic single body, rare for the area, 28 hectares of vineyards covers all sides of the hill and has always grown with the different local varieties, selected and implanted differently depending on sun exposure, soil type and altitude.
Continuous research and experimentation of modern winemaking techniques, respect for the environment and biodiversity of the area, are the values which constantly guide this reality. The wines Cordero di Montezemolo over the years have been exported and appreciated around the world, representing perfectly the reality of the Barolo area.
