The Barbera d'Alba Superiore 'Funtani' from Cordero di Montezemolo originates from vineyards located near an old spring at the foot of the slope. A very sunny position, old vines, and a natural production of few bunches per plant are the foundations of this product. Made for the first time in 1998, it aims to express the most noble and complex potential of this extraordinary Piedmontese grape variety. A production of a few thousand bottles follows a maturation process in wood of over a year, followed by an additional year of rest in the bottle. Sublime when young but also to be appreciated at 12-15 years and beyond.
