Toscana IGT 'Gorgona' (750 ml.) 2023 Frescobaldi

Toscana IGT Gorgona Bianco by Frescobaldi is an extraordinary and symbolic wine, born on the prison island of Gorgona from a social project that combines rehabilitation and high-quality viticulture. Produced in very limited quantities, it is made from Vermentino (70%) and Ansonica (30%), grown on terraced vineyards overlooking the sea, in an unspoiled environment using sustainable farming practices. After manual harvesting, it ferments in stainless steel and ages in used oak barriques, preserving its freshness. It shows a bright golden yellow color, with aromas of Mediterranean herbs, citrus, white flowers, and saline notes. The palate is tense, savory, and harmonious, a true expression of the island. Perfect with raw seafood, grilled shellfish, amberjack tartare, and fish-based pasta dishes.

Frescobaldi

frescobaldi_870x360.jpg

Nestled in the beautiful Tuscan lands, where time seems to have stopped to celebrate the beauty of nature and the art of winemaking, the Frescobaldi winery tells a story that spans generations. It is one of the oldest wine families in Italy, with roots that sink into a past rich in tradition and innovation. With a presence that embraces the most prestigious denominations of Tuscany, such as the DOCG Chianti, Brunello and Bolgheri, Frescobaldi stands out for a modern approach that, however, never forgets to respect the history and terroir that surrounds it.

The Frescobaldi estates are a mosaic of winemaking excellence, where each vineyard is cared for with dedication and love for the land. Here, under the warm Tuscan sun, Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are born, each an expression of a unique territory and an unparalleled savoir-faire. Frescobaldi's production philosophy is a perfect balance between tradition and innovation, where ancient wisdom blends with the most modern winemaking techniques to create wines with a distinctive and unmistakable character.

Among the labels that make up Frescobaldi's prestigious portfolio, Nipozzano and CastelGiocondo stand out, two wines that embody the essence of Tuscany. Nipozzano, with its enveloping structure and intense aromas, is the perfect companion for those who wish to explore the depth of Tuscan wines. CastelGiocondo, on the other hand, is a Brunello di Montalcino with a refined and complex character, capable of recounting, sip after sip, the magic of a legendary territory.

Let yourself be won over by the elegance and mastery of Frescobaldi wines, available on Vino45. An invitation to discover a world where history, innovation and passion for wine intertwine in an unparalleled sensory experience.

Color: Bright straw yellow with golden reflections, an expression of its island origins and well-calibrated maturation. The color, bright and crystalline, suggests a fresh wine with good concentration.

Bouquet: The aromatic profile is intense and complex. It opens with citrus notes of cedar and lemon peel, followed by floral hints of broom and chamomile. Mediterranean nuances of aromatic herbs such as thyme and sage then emerge, with iodine and mineral hints that evoke the proximity to the sea. The evolution on the nose is continuous, with delicate nuances of yellow-fleshed fruit and light hints of dried fruit.

Taste: Enveloping, fresh and savory, with an elegant texture and a strong marine imprint. The citrus freshness is well balanced by a creamy roundness, while the persistence is long, with a salty and vibrant finish that recalls the sea winds and the uncontaminated nature of the Island of Gorgona. The structure is fine, but capable of expressing character and depth.
