Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC 'Toar' 2020 (750 ml.) Masi

Valpolicella Classico Superiore 'Toar' by Masi is an elegant and modern red wine, made from a blend of Corvina and Oseleta, a rediscovered native grape. The grapes come from hillside vineyards in the Classico area of Valpolicella, rooted in basaltic and tufaceous soils that lend the wine minerality and structure. After traditional fermentation, it ages for 12 months in Slavonian and Allier oak barrels, gaining complexity and roundness. The bouquet offers ripe red fruit, spices, and chocolate, while the palate is harmonious, savory, and persistent, with velvety tannins. Perfect with roasts, grilled meats, and aged cheeses, it reflects a contemporary expression of Valpolicella.

Color: Intense ruby red with purple reflections, bright and with good consistency in the glass.

Bouquet: Complex and enveloping, with notes of ripe cherry, plum, black pepper, licorice and nuances of cocoa and toasted wood due to the aging in oak. A pleasant volcanic minerality is perceived on the bottom.

Taste: On the palate it is soft, savory and well structured, with a fine and round tannic texture. The balance between fruit, freshness and spiciness is excellent. The finish is persistent, with returns of sweet spices and chocolate.
