Barolo 'Sarmassa' by Marchesi di Barolo is made from the vineyards located in Sarmassa, a cru exposed to the South-East, on a well-sloping hillside. The high presence of stones, associated with clay, limits the vegetation of the Nebbiolo vine and predisposes the vines to be promptly affected by climatic variations, favoring the perfect maturation of the bunches. It matures for at least 18 months in oak barrels of different capacities, allowing to best bring out the peculiar qualities. It completes its refinement in the bottle. Intense aroma with a clear hint of scrub rose, vanilla, liquorice and spices. The pine resin and tobacco are blended. Full and elegant taste, good body, with evident tannin. The spicy and woody notes are pleasant and blend perfectly.
