Frappato
Frappato Rosé: the freshest and most refined expression of a Sicilian native grape
Frappato Rosé reveals the delicate and radiant side of one of Sicily’s most charming indigenous varieties. Vinified as a rosé, this wine captures a new dimension of lightness, freshness, and aromatic finesse, enhancing the grape’s most vibrant and floral characteristics.
Originally from the Ragusa province and primarily grown around Vittoria, Frappato thrives in the Mediterranean climate and limestone-rich soils of southeastern Sicily. While the red version is known for its elegance and versatility, the rosé offers even greater drinkability and a refined, breezy charm — ideal for any occasion.
In the glass, it shows a bright pale pink hue, elegant and inviting. The bouquet bursts with wild strawberry, pomegranate, wildflowers, and a hint of citrus zest. On the palate, Frappato Rosé is fresh, smooth, and subtly saline, with lively acidity that enhances its crispness and a light structure that maintains the grape’s natural elegance.
Vinification includes a short maceration on the skins, just enough to extract color and aroma without compromising delicacy. Fermentation occurs at controlled temperatures, followed by stainless steel aging to preserve the wine’s purity and aromatic clarity.
Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with light dishes: seafood salads, vegetable crudités, fish carpaccio, sushi, or fresh cheeses and seasonal focaccias. It’s the perfect companion for Mediterranean summers, best enjoyed well chilled and in good company.
