Forastera

Forastera is a white grape variety from Ischia. It was already cultivated before the Greek colonization in the 7th century BC. Biancolella was in fact the vine cultivated up to the phylloxera crisis and reported since ancient times. In the period following the crisis, however, Forastera began to appear in the production of wines, although Biancolella remained and is still predominant.
