The 25 Year Old Original Legend Blended Scotch Whiskey by Chivas Regal is a refined distillate obtained from a selection of fine Scotch whiskeys that age at least 25 years in fine oak barrels, created to satisfy the sophisticated taste of New York's high society that it has acquired in little time an international resonance. At the sight of an intense golden yellow, it boasts a bouquet composed of hazelnut and wild berry scents, combined with notes of licorice, raspberry and sweet oats. In the mouth it is inviting, soft and juicy, with elegant aromas of butter, anise and custard. Ideal to be enjoyed alone as a meditation whiskey.

CHIVAS TAKES NEW YORK

In 1909, Master Blender Charles Howard and Alexander Smith created a 25-year-old blend that would become the world's first luxury whiskey. Pioneering and with a soft and generous taste, this blend honored the legacy of the Chivas brothers. Thus Chivas Regal appeared on the world stage, and in passing conquered New York.

THE DISTILLERY

Created in 1786, Strathisla is the oldest still operating Scottish Highlands distillery and certainly the most beautiful. The single malt produced in this distillery, located in the Speyside region of Scotland, is the heart of all the Chivas Regal blends. Often described as the most picturesque distillery in Scotland, Strathisla is proof that beauty does not mean superficiality. Under its emblematic twin pagodas, the copper stills possess a particular shape that determines the unique character of every single drop of Strathisla whiskey. a distillate with a rich, full and fruity taste. The importance of the stills in maintaining an absolute continuity in the flavor is such that, if ever in the future it was necessary to replace them, any element should always be an exact replica of the original dents, folds and so on. And it is this almost obsessive attention to detail that allows us to preserve the heart of the Chivas blend for future generations.

THE COMPANY

Chivas Brothers is one of the most historic and important names in Scotch Whiskey, inextricably linked to the prestigious range of Whiskey Chivas Regal, which has become a legend. Its history dates back to 1801, when brothers James and John Chivas opened a prestigious grocery and liquor store in Aberdeen, which later became official supplier to Queen Victoria during her visits to Scotland, obtaining a royal mandate. Meanwhile, in the emporium cellar, the two brothers had begun to refine some whiskeys in the barrels and, to meet the needs of the customers, to mix the aging to create a rich and soft taste, becoming pioneers of the art of blending. In 1850 the first Blended product was called Reale Glen Dee, followed in 1860 by the Royal Strathythan. In honor of the two brothers, in 1909 the Chivas Regal 25 Anni was created, the first luxury whiskey in the world, and in 1938 the Chivas Regal 12 years, which achieved success in the United States.

Since 1949 the Chivas Brothers company owns the Strathisla distillery, which today boasts the distinction of being the oldest still operating Highlands distillery, having been founded in 1786. The Strathisla is also one of the most beautiful and picturesque, being formed by two historic buildings with pagoda roof. Inside there are the four large copper stills used to produce the Single Malt that is the basis of all Whiskey Chivas expressions. Given the small size of the distillery, only a small part of barrels ages on site, while others are shipped and mixed in other locations. Since 1989 Colin Scott, son and nephew of others of important mixers, is the Master Distiller of Chivas Regal, able to combine the best distillates to create blends of great excellence.

Today Chivas Brothers is one of the main companies of the Pernod Ricard group, whose brand is known throughout the world and is the market leader in Europe and East Asia. The secret of this success is due to an unmistakable style based on softness and balance, achieved thanks to the quality of the raw materials, the sweet Single Malt from the Strathisla distillery and the expertise of the Master Blender Colin Scott.
