Villa Gemma Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC Riserva is the flagship wine of Masciarelli, the result of an ambitious project started in 1984. It is made from 100% hand-harvested Montepulciano grapes from a single high-density vineyard located in San Martino sulla Marrucina (400 m a.s.l.), on medium-textured clay soils. The vines are trained using the Guyot system, with a low yield (80 q/ha) to ensure concentration and structure. Vinification takes place in stainless steel, followed by aging in new French oak barriques and further refinement in bottle. The wine is powerful, elegant and long-lived, offering intense, evolving aromas of ripe fruit and sweet spices. Ideal with red meats, game, aged cheeses, or even dark chocolate desserts.

Masciarelli Tenute Agricole
Masciarelli Tenute Agricole is synonymous with excellence in Abruzzese vitivinicola. Founded in 1981 by Gianni Masciarelli, a charismatic and visionary figure, the company has revolutionized the way of understanding wine in Abruzzo, bringing Montepulciano and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo to international stages. With over 60 plots of vines distributed in the four provinces of Abruzzo, Masciarelli cultivates a profound bond with his own land, valuing the pedoclimatiche peculiarities to enhance the character of each single vine.
Le sue sette linee – da Villa Gemma all'elegante Marina Cvetic – tells the story of an Abruzzo made of hills, mountains and sea breezes, where tradition, innovation and sustainability coexist harmoniously. The beating heart of the company is San Martino sulla Marrucina (CH), but the Castello di Semivicoli, today a relais of charm, represents the refined side of Abruzzo wine tourism.
Each bottle of Masciarelli is a tribute to the biodiversity of the "Green Region of Europe" and today you can discover it also on Vino45, an exclusive selection of great Italian wines. Per chi cerca autenticità, eleganza e una storia da bere.

Color: dense, compact, a deep ruby red with garnet reflections that already betray a certain evolution. The consistency is visible, with slow and dense arches in the glass, a sign of concentration and structure.
Bouquet: a great complexity immediately emerges: intense notes of ripe plum, black cherry in alcohol and blackberry open, followed by spicy hints of vanilla, cloves and licorice. With oxygenation, nuances of bitter cocoa, blond tobacco, leather and light balsamic and ferrous accents arrive, which further expand the aromatic profile.
Taste: powerful and enveloping, supported by a well-sculpted but perfectly integrated tannic texture. The entry is warm and decisive, with a rich and fleshy center of the mouth, where the dark fruit returns accompanied by sweet spices and toasted touches. The lively acidity and final salinity lengthen the progression, leaving the palate clean and persistent, with a noble and deep finish.
