Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 'Marchese Antinori' 2022 (750 ml.) Antinori

Chianti Classico Riserva 'Marchese Antinori' is a historic wine from the Antinori estate that, since the 2011 vintage, has been produced with grapes from the Tignanello Estate, located in the heart of the Chianti Classico. A blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, it ferments in steel and then, at the end of malolactic fermentation, the assembled wine continues its period of aging in French and Hungarian oak barriques for about a year. Bottled and then refined in the bottle for a further 12 months. With an intense ruby red color, it strikes the nose with intense notes of black cherry that, together with delicate floral sensations of violet and rose petals, alternate with hints of vanilla and cocoa powder. On the palate, the enveloping and lively entry unfolds in a balanced way, with sweet and vibrant tannins that accompany and support a savoury, long and persistent finish.

Antinori

The Antinori family has been dedicated to wine production for more than six hundred years: since 1385, when Giovanni di Piero Antinori became part of the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri. Throughout its long history, through 26 generations, the family has always directly managed this activity with innovative and sometimes courageous choices but always maintaining unaltered respect for tradition and for the territory.

Today the company is managed by Albiera Antinori, with the support of the two sisters Allegra and Alessia, who are personally involved in the company's activities. Marchese Piero Antinori is currently the Honorary President of the company. Tradition, passion and intuition have been the driving qualities that have led the Marchesi Antinori to establish themselves as one of the main Italian wine producers. Every vintage, every land, every idea that one wants to implement is a new beginning, a new search for increasingly higher quality margins.

As Marchese Piero likes to say: “ancient roots play an important role in our philosophy, but they have never inhibited our innovative spirit”. Over time, investments have been added to the estates in Tuscany and Umbria, the family’s historical heritage, in other areas suited to the production of quality wines both in Italy and abroad, where it was possible to undertake a new path of valorizing new “terroirs” with high viticultural potential. Marchesi Antinori expresses its passion for viticulture by seeking increasingly subtle margins of improvement. For this reason, continuous experiments are carried out in the vineyards and cellars with selections of clones of native and international grapes, types of cultivation, vineyard altitudes, fermentation methods and temperatures, traditional and modern winemaking techniques, different types of wood, size and age of the barrels, and varying the length of aging in the bottle. "We have demonstrated, over the years, that in Tuscany and Umbria there was the possibility of producing quality wines, recognized at an international level, that could show elegance and finesse while maintaining their original character.

Our library has many titles, but for us it is not rich enough. We have a mission that is not entirely accomplished, which pushes us to express the vast potential of our vineyards and to reconcile the new that remains to be discovered with the heritage of Tuscan taste that includes tradition, culture, agriculture, the artistic and literary that in fact represent the identity of Marchesi Antinori, one of whose major strengths lies in the fact of being Tuscan, or, if you prefer, our 'Tuscanness'." Piero Antinori

The Antinori family has been part, since its foundation, of PFV, "Premum Familiae Vini", an informal association of family-owned wineries. PFV goes beyond geographical borders and maintains a common bond: that of the ownership of the vineyards and the production of wine as a family activity to be cultivated and refined, like a great wine, over time.
