Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru 'Les Vergelesses' 2015 (750 ml.) - Domaine Delarche

Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru 'Les Vergelesses' by Domaine Delarche is produced in the Cotes de Beaune, in Pernand-Vergelesses, one of the most renowned villages in Burgundy. 100% Pinot Noir from 30-year-old vineyards located at an altitude of 250-300 meters on iron-rich limestone soil, which gives the grapes a beautiful aromatic complexity and a fine and elegant structure. Traditional vinification and aging in oak barrels (30% new) for 15 months before bottling. Bouquet with intense notes of dark berries, earthy and smoky notes with fresh balsamic and slightly spicy hints. Elegant and fine tasting, with velvety tannins and intense fruity scents, floral and balsamic notes followed by a light spiciness.

Etienne Delarche manages a 9-hectare family estate in the municipalities of Pernand-vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton. It was Marius, his grandfather, who took over the vineyards from his wife Jeanne in the 1950s. Then his son Philippe, in 1987, gave new impetus by planting new plots and building a 3-level vat-cellar complex. It was after his death in 2008 that Etienne took over management. In 2016 the Domaine wanted to expand the range of wines offered by creating a trading company. After purchasing the grapes at the time of harvest, Etienne vinifies them like the Domaine's vintages to give you just as much pleasure.
