Douro DOC 'Tinta da Barca & Alicante Bouschet' 2018 (750 ml.) Quinta do Pessegueiro

Tinta da Barca & Alicante Bouschet by Quinta do Pessegueiro is a 50% blend between the two vines, and is produced in the Douro Valley, Portugal. Vineyards approximately 10 years old, 60% of which are grown organically. The grapes are transported in 22 kg wooden crates to the cellar, where they remain cold for 12 hours to complete fermentation. Then the wine is fermented in concrete tanks. It is subsequently refined for 12 months. The bouquet is intense, with hints of red fruits, vegetal notes and good minerality. In the fresh and balanced glass, hints of red berries and plums, mineral, light vegetal and floral notes; marked acidity and excellent persistence. Annual production 2,200 bottles.

This corner of winemaking paradise is the stage for a winemaking project that combines respect for tradition with an innovative vision. The winery stands out for its dedication to native grape varieties, such as the noble Touriga Nacional and the resistant Sousão, which find their most authentic and vibrant expression here.

The production philosophy of Quinta do Pessegueiro is based on a perfect balance between ancient techniques and modern approaches. Each vineyard is cared for with almost obsessive attention, respecting the rhythms of nature and enhancing the unique characteristics of the Douro terroir.
