Etna Rosso 'Calderara Sottana' by Tenuta delle Terre Nere is the fruit of nerello mascalese and nerello cappuccio grapes from Calderara Sottana: vineyard located between 600 and 700 m elevation, where the light pumice stone and basalt stones of which it is completely covered hold and release the heat during the cool nights, favoring a perfect ripening of the grapes. Refined in 20% new French oak woods of different capacities (barriques, tonneaux, large barrels) for a period varying between 16 and 18 months and for a final month in steel, the distinctive feature of Calderara is to know how to donate feelings of fullness on the palate, while remaining ineffably light and elegant - creamy, probably the most immediate of Terre Nere's red Etna cru.

Tenuta delle Terre Nere
In the suggestive scenery of Etna, where earth and fire dance in an eternal embrace, stands Tenuta delle Terre Nere. This winery, symbol of a unique territory in the world, was born with a clear and ambitious goal: to enhance the volcanic crus, bringing out the extraordinary richness and diversity that the Etna soil can offer. Here, among the slopes of the still active volcano, viticulture becomes an art that challenges nature, transforming each harvest into a unique work.
Tenuta delle Terre Nere embraces the DOC Etna with devotion, dedicating itself to the cultivation of native grapes such as Nerello Mascalese and Carricante, varieties that better than others are able to express the character and identity of their terroir. The production philosophy is rooted in respect for the land and for natural cycles, adopting sustainable agricultural practices and winemaking methods that enhance the purity and authenticity of the fruit.
Among the most emblematic labels, Etna Rosso Santo Spirito stands out, a wine capable of recounting, sip after sip, the magic of these lands. With its complex and fascinating bouquet, ranging from notes of ripe red fruits to mineral and spicy nuances, each glass transforms into a sensory journey through the lava trails and blue skies of Etna.
