'Overture' by Opus One is made in Oakville Napa Valley over a dark volcanic soil. It is made by assembling the best of different vintages, to obtain a wine of great prestige and possibility of evolution. The five grape varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Malbec) are harvested by hand. After careful selection, the berries are placed in tanks for fermentation at a controlled temperature. Timeless expression of the company's vineyards, it reveals explosive hints of fruit and sweet spices, due to the prolonged stay in cask, in its youth, but it is destined to enrich its bouquet with long refinements. Limited edition.

Opus One
In the luminous winemaking cradle of California, among the golden hills of Napa Valley, one of the most illustrious collaborations in the world wine scene comes to life: Opus One. This bold and visionary project is born from the meeting between two giants of wine, Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild, combining Californian tradition with Bordeaux elegance in an unprecedented wine experience.
The terroir of Napa Valley, with its Mediterranean climate and mineral-rich alluvial soils, offers the ideal conditions for growing the grapes that make the Opus One blend unique. Here, neat rows of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, enriched by varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, give life to a wine that is the emblem of luxury and refinement, an authentic tribute to nature and human savoir-faire.
Each bottle of Opus One is a symphony of aromas and flavors, a sensory experience that enchants and seduces. The winery's flagship wine, Opus One, presents itself with an opulent structure and extraordinary aromatic complexity. Its aromas of ripe black fruits, sweet spices and tertiary notes of tobacco and chocolate blend in perfect balance, while on the palate it offers a velvety softness and a persistent finish that invites reflection.
Explore the excellence of Opus One on Vino45, a journey into a dimension where time and space merge, offering unforgettable moments of pure oenological beauty.

THE COMPANY
Producing wine in harmony with the surrounding environment, capturing the best of its expressiveness: this is the goal of Opus One Winery, a prestigious Californian company. Already from the building that houses the cellar, perfectly inserted, almost camouflaged, in the context of the vineyards, this careful research can be grasped. Four parcels form the terroir where Opus One wines are produced: here the traditional varieties that make up the Bordeaux blend (merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot) are grown with experience, passion and dedication. The attention and the human touch are fundamental to calibrate and enhance the characteristics of each single vintage. A unique and inimitable wine, the flagship of the company's production, Opus One represents not only the progenitor of the great Californian Cabernets but also the symbiosis between two of the most important wineries in the world: the Mondavi family and the Mouton Rothschild group. Born in 1979, the result of continuous research and improvement, in a very short time it established itself among the elite of contemporary winemaking thanks to an unstoppable qualitative growth. Today, more than thirty years later, it is in fact synonymous with a great Bordeaux cut thanks to a fabric and elegance that is truly out of the ordinary. Overture, "younger" brother but only for chronological reasons, reflects instead the artistic skill of the winemaker, who manages to combine the traditional varieties of the Bordeaux blend and at the same time capture the uniqueness of the terroir, since each grape variety is cultivated in different terrains. In addition to these elements, Overture also adds the “time” factor, combining different vintages to create a unique product.
