Grappa di Timorasso by Antica Distilleria di Altavilla, a historic Piedmontese distillery specializing in the production of long-aged Piedmontese single-variety grappas, is part of the 'Riserve' line. It is produced in Castagnole Monferrato in the province of Asti, by artisan producers of six generations. Obtained from very fresh pomace and distilled with steam stills, after a careful and scrupulous discarding of the head and tail, the grappa is aged in small acacia barrels. Very fine and delicate bouquet with notes of hay and when tasted it is soft and aromatic.

Founded way back in 1846, this distillery represents a beacon of tradition and craftsmanship, capable of transforming the most authentic essences of the territory into distillates of rare intensity and character. In a world where haste often overwhelms quality, the Antica Distilleria di Altavilla remains firmly anchored to traditional techniques, handed down from generation to generation, to distill the quintessence of Piedmont.
The beating heart of the distillery is represented by grappas, with particular attention to Grappa di Barolo, which stands out for its aromatic complexity and depth of flavor. The grapes and pomace, selected with meticulous care, tell the story of the territory in every drop, evoking the scents of the Piedmont vineyards and the passion of those who cultivate them.
Every sip is a sensory journey through time and space, an invitation to discover the stories of a generous land and a distilling art that does not fear the passing of the years. DISTILLERY
Started in 1846 by Filippo Mazzetti, the family distillation business has been handed down from father to son until today through six generations. In fact, every year the best pomace of Monferrato converge in the Antica Distilleria di Altavilla, giving rise to as many single-variety grappas. Obtained from fresh pomace and distilled with steam stills, after a careful and scrupulous rejection of heads and tails, the grappas are kept for several years in fine oak barrels and in cherry, chestnut, almond and French oak barriques; until they reach a complete harmony of taste and aroma, keeping the floral and fruity notes intact. They are the result of a production process handed down with passion and wisdom to the current owner, Filippo Mazzetti together with his wife Laura and their children Fabrizio and Alessandro.
