Founded at the dawn of the twentieth century, the winery has managed to keep its tradition intact, while always looking ahead, towards new challenges and horizons.

The Gavi territory, with its green hills and temperate climate, offers an ideal environment for the cultivation of the queen grape variety of the area: Cortese. This variety, with its innate elegance, finds its maximum splendor in the expert hands of the winemakers of La Scolca, transforming itself into wines of great longevity and extraordinary minerality. The flagship denomination is the DOCG Gavi, which embodies the essence of this land and the wisdom of those who work it.

La Scolca's production philosophy is a perfect balance between tradition and innovation. The winery not only respects traditional winemaking methods, but enriches them with cutting-edge techniques to best enhance the unique characteristics of Cortese. Among the main labels, the famous Gavi dei Gavi “Black Label” stands out, a wine that embodies luxury and refinement, known for being present on the most exclusive tables in the world. Color: delicate and luminous coppery hue, tending towards antique pink, a sign of long refinement and natural chromatic evolution.

Perlage: fine and persistent, fueled by a thin and continuous bubble, which confirms the quality of the classic method and the long rest on the yeasts.

Bouquet: it is broad and layered, with initial notes of candied small red fruits and ripe citrus fruits that give way to more complex hints of dried rose, sweet spices, bread crust and mineral nuances. The aromatic profile is noble, mature and at the same time still vibrant.

Taste: the sip is dry, with great tension and verticality. The structure is elegant and enveloping, balanced by a freshness that is still alive and a marked minerality. The very fine perlage enhances the creaminess of the body, while the finish is very long, with saline and citrus returns that amplify its persistence.
