Barbaresco DOCG Reserve 'Rio Sordo' 2017 (750 ml.) - Cascina Bruciata

Barbaresco Reserve 'Rio Sordo' is the flagship of Cascina Bruciata, a small farm owned by the Abbona family (Marchesi di Barolo). A small production of the highest quality that is born in Barbaresco, in the Cru Rio Sordo. The grapes of this Cru are coveted because they give the wines an unmistakable balsamic character, with great personality. In this Reserve, the Cellar has set itself the objective of creating a wine that enhances the aristocratic elegance of Nebbiolo through a more prolonged stay in small oak barrels to achieve a harmoniously perfect balance. Intense, complex bouquet with spicy hints. On the palate it is warm and soft, with a good body, very persistent and harmonious.

Cascina Bruciata agricultural company, active since the beginning of 1880, is located in Barbaresco, in the Rio Sordo area. The company was purchased around 1880 by Giovanni Balbo when, following an arson attack, the then owner decided to sell. Around the 1950s the company acquired an exclusively viticultural connotation, but saw its potential realized with Carlo Balbo, who, at the beginning of the new millennium, decided to produce wine and market it. In 2016 it was bought by the Abbona family, maintaining its full independence and identity.
