Champagne Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru (750 ml.) - Reine Dhuicq

Champagne Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru by Reine Dhuicq is fresh and intriguing. Is made in Côte des Blancs, Chouilly, Le Mesnil sur Oger on chalky soil, rich in clay and limestone from Chardonnay vines of approximately 30 years. It is vinified for 2/3 in oak barrels and aged in the same barrels used for 10 months; the further 1/3 is vinified and aged in steel vats. The blending of the wine takes place maintaining the proportions. Fruity notes of apple and citrus, notes of yeasts and brioches, a light spiciness and delicate floral notes on the finish. Fresh and intriguing on the palate, with fruity notes of apple, pear and citrus fruits, hints of yeast, brioches and a delicate toasting followed by light floral notes; a light spiciness on the finish. Elegant and persistent, balanced.

The current owner Romain Tribaut was born into a family of winemakers since 1890. It all began with his great-grandfather Léon Tribaut (1930) already a winemaker in the villages of Romery and Cormoyeux in the Marne Valley, near Epernay, in Champagne. This vineyard was then taken over by Romain's grandfather, Roger Tribaut in the 1930s in parallel with his position as vineyard manager for Lanson House, and he combined his 2 businesses for more than 30 years. Romain's father, Michel Tribaut, succeeded Roger in the 1980s and then expanded and developed the family farm. Romain decided to bring to light his grandfather's winemaking method and the Pinot Meunier grape variety. Only for this project did he invest in a new thermoregulated stainless steel cellar in Romery and then purchased barrels from Burgundy where the Chardonnay was vinified over 2 years.
