“Terra di Rosso” by Galardi is the younger brother of the famous Terra di Lavoro, but shares the same volcanic soul and quality rigor. Produced from 100% Piedirosso, it is made only in excellent vintages, using the excess grapes from the selection for the main blend. The volcanic soils and the 22-24 year old vines give the wine intensity and depth. After hand harvesting, the winemaking follows traditional methods, with aging in barriques for at least 8 months. The bouquet is rich and seductive: cherry, currant, blackberry, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, accompanied by floral notes of violet, lavender, geranium, and hints of Mediterranean scrub. THE COMPANY
Azienda Agricola Galardi was born from a shared dream among five people. Maria Luisa Murena, Arturo Celentano, Roberto Selvaggi, Francesco, and Dora Catello, in 1991, decided to create a new reality capable of enhancing the many good fruits of their land. We are in Sessa Aurunca, on the slopes of Roccamonfina. Here, on volcanic soils and with the help of a great winemaker like Riccardo Cotarella, they begin their journey to discover the potential of Aglianico and Pedirosso, which until then had been significantly undervalued by local producers. Following modern criteria of thoughtful viticulture, and thanks to a unique terroir, wines of great quality and distinctive character can be born here. Thus, the legendary “Terre di Lavoro” was born, now considered one of the most interesting products of the noble Aglianico. A wine that, as renowned wine critics have often written, has brought the Galardi winery into the elite of Italian red wine.
