Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 'Costasera' 2018 (750 ml.) - Masi

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 'Costasera' by Masi is proud, majestic, complex, exuberant: it is the gentle giant of Masi. It is a reference point for the Amaroni category, which together with Barolo and Brunello represents the aristocracy of Italian reds. It is the result of the authoritative expertise of Masi in the Appassimento technique: the native varieties of Valpolicella Classica Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara rest on bamboo racks in the winter months, concentrating the aromas.

Veneto is one of the most suitable regions from the wine point of view in all of Italy. A variegated and multifaceted territory, always in turmoil, with emerging productive realities alongside historical and prestigious names. Among the latter, we cannot fail to mention the Masi winery, a family business for seven generations that has belonged to the Boscaini family since the end of the 18th century, but which above all represents today one of the most important and authoritative Italian wine brands in the world.

Counting on extensive vineyards in both Italy and Argentina, where the Tupungato line gives voice to the terroir of Mendoza, the heart of the company, with the winery and the business center, remains firmly anchored to Valpolicella, the place from which the entire wine project has started. Currently managed by a well-coordinated technical group and gathered in a Board of Directors chaired by Sandro Boscaini, the company, linked to the millenary Venetian civilization, has its roots in a historical heritage consisting of exceptional terroirs and great native grapes.

Furthermore, combining the most ancient traditions with the most modern technology, the Masi winery is constantly active in the field of research and experimentation, to the point that it has contributed to rewriting the history of drying for the production of Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG, wine symbol of the territory, as well as being a precursor in the recovery and use of ancient Veronese vines that have almost disappeared, such as oseleta. And it is precisely from the native grapes of these territories, processed according to traditional winemaking techniques, that unique, majestic and world-famous wines are born, such as Amarone itself, of which Masi probably produces the most qualified and broad range that can be moment to find on the international market, with the “Mazzano” and the “Costasera” Riserva always at the top of the sector guides, both Italian and international.
