THE COMPANY
La Torretta Wines is the creature born from the meeting and the fusion of the visionary passion of Fulvio Rapanà with the professional talent of Massimo Tripaldi, a well-known winemaker. Passion and skill to create the "terroir" and therefore the power and opulence of the sun and the red earth of Salento with the recovery of winemaking techniques that have almost been lost over time but which have always enhanced the olfactory and gustatory qualities of wines. The position between the municipalities of Manduria, Guagnano, Salice, San Donaci and Torricella, close to the typical territory of both Primitivo and Negroamaro with the sapling vineyards located three kilometers from the sea, fully satisfies the icon of a viticulture with the head in the sun and feet in the celestial sea of the Ionian sea on which the Torre Zozzoli is reflected, an antisaracena watchtower from the 1400s which gives its name and characterizes the whole area. The sirocco blows for most of the days of the year and brings the mood and flavor of the Ionian sea to the vineyards of the Torretta, helping to create a wine with extraordinary organoleptic structures. These particular climatic conditions allow Vini La Torretta to produce wines from both Primitivo, Miti and Negroamaro, Enne and Fué grapes, powerful but elegant, masculine and vigorous but also soft and in any case never aggressive on the nose and palate. Wines La Torretta has a niche production, with a maximum of 25,000 bottles per year, due to the type of wine used in the selection of the grapes on the vineyards, 22/25 quintals per hectare, and the manual skill of the winemaking techniques.
