THE COMPANY

Founded during the first half of the nineteenth century, in 1825 to be precise, the Domaine Faiveley, located in the heart of French Burgundy, has been handed down from father to son until the seventh generation, and is currently led by Erwin Faiveley. The company is currently the largest and most important wine-making company in the entire Burgundy region, and counts vineyards that expand into all of the best crus in the area, from the historic center of Nuits-Saint- Georges, up to the villages of Gevrey-Chambertin, Pommard, Volnay, Puligny-Montrachet and Mercurey: vineyards from which come the grapes with which some of the best wines of Burgundy are produced and not only. To give an example of the quality of the land owned by the Faiveley company, just take into consideration the ten hectares of Grand Cru, the 25 Premier Cru and the three excellent monopolies, terroir owned entirely and exclusively by the family, who respond to the very famous names of Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos des Issarts, Beaune 1er Cru Clos de l'Ecu and Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru. The crus, small and fragmented, make only a limited production possible, but all that instead of representing an obstacle has been transformed into a strength by the Faiveley, which have obtained from the low yield a higher quality of the grapes and from the fragmentation a greater diversity of production, thus succeeding in reaching ever broader slices of the market. In the course of its history, the Domaine Faiveley has always dedicated great attention to the work in the vineyard, with attention to the smallest details in every period of the year, from winter to harvest, to ensure the perfect ripeness to each bunch of grapes. In the winery, Faiveley's experience and know-how have allowed us to reconcile the Burgundian tradition with technological innovations, so as to arrive, year after year, season after season, to reach what is today the extraordinary level of quality expressed by the Faiveley labels.
