Alsace Gewurztraminer AOC 'Les Princes Abbes' 2022 (750 ml.) Domaine Schlumberger

The Alsace Gewurztraminer 'Les Princes Abbés' by Domaine Schlumberger originates from the sun-drenched, schist-rich slopes around Guebwiller, and stands out as an intense and seductive expression of the estate’s distinctive style. The vines, averaging 35 years of age, are grown following sustainable farming principles. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, with a rigorous double selection of the grape clusters. After a gentle pressing, the must undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve its aromatic freshness. The wine is then aged for several months on fine lees, enhancing its structure and complexity. On the nose, it reveals lychee, rose petals, oriental spices, and exotic fruit; the palate is smooth, velvety, and persistent, with a spicy, harmonious finish. Perfect with Asian cuisine, blue cheeses, or sweet and sour dishes.

Domaine Schlumberger

In the heart of Alsace, among the sunny slopes of Guebwiller, the excellence signed by Domaines Schlumberger is born, a house that since 1810 embodies tradition, territory, and innovation. With over 140 hectares of owned vineyards, more than half of which are classified as Grand Cru, Domaines Schlumberger is one of the few remaining family-run estates that cultivate and vinify exclusively their own grapes, with a meticulous care for every production phase.

Their Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, and Muscat are authentic expressions of the Alsatian terroir: refined, complex, mineral, and extraordinarily long-lived. Each sip tells the identity of a unique territory, where the vines climb steep terraced slopes, exposed to the south and cultivated according to sustainable practices. Wines that captivate with purity and character, awarded by the most authoritative international guides.

On Vino45, you will find a curated selection of the best wines signed by Domaines Schlumberger, perfect for those seeking authenticity and prestige in their glass. From the powerful Riesling Grand Cru “Kitterlé” to the seductive Gewürztraminer “Les Princes Abbés,” each bottle is a sensory journey into the heart of the most authentic Alsace.

Address:

68501 Guebwiller Cedex, France

Color: bright golden yellow with amber reflections, a sign of maturity and concentration

Bouquet: intense and seductive, dominated by ripe lychee, rose petals, and oriental spices such as ginger and cardamom. Notes of tropical fruit (pineapple, mango) and a delicate hint of honey also emerge.

Taste: soft and velvety, with a broad structure and well-integrated sweetness. The aromatic freshness perfectly balances the rich flavor, while the finish is long, persistent, and spicy, with floral and exotic returns. Rich, opulent, aromatic, typical of Alsatian Gewurztraminer.

Awaiting confirmation for the year 2022.
