THE COMPANY
The Agricultural Company Scala Fenicia was born from the renewal of the winemaking tradition of the island of Capri, as a challenge for the productive future of this enchanting island. A truly suggestive winery, built within an ancient Roman cistern, which was part of a water system similar to that of the nearby Villa Jovis, the Caprese residence of Emperor Tiberius. The thick stone walls of this winery and the vaulted ceiling ensure the best climatic conditions throughout the year, ideal for wine aging. The production part of the winery has been active since 1818, and there is still a grape press from the second half of the 19th century, which testifies to the island's winemaking vocation. The winery produces only one wine, the Capri Bianco DOC, made from greco (50%), biancolella (30%), and falanghina (20%), with delicate aromas of citrus and herbs, offering a fresh and savory palate. A very pleasant wine, it has been selected in the last four editions of the Merano Wine Festival in the "heroic agriculture" section.
