THE WINE

Barbaresco DOCG by Ceretto is the result of a careful blending of the most beautiful vineyards: a small part of Asili, the youngest plot, and the lower part of the Bernadot cru in Treiso. From the cohesion of these two souls, an ideal balance is born between the explosive finesse of Asili and the full-bodied character of the Treiso hillside, resulting in a Barbaresco delicious, typical, and balanced. The grapes are 100% Nebbiolo, cultivated using organic methods, ferment in steel with long maceration, followed by 24 months in large oak barrels, to enhance aromas and structure. On the nose, it releases dried rose, cherry, sweet spices, and tobacco, while the palate is elegant, complex, and persistent, with silky tannins. A great classic of the Langhe, perfect with tajarin with ragù, roasts, game, and aged cheeses.

THE COMPANY

Selecting the vineyards in historically the most valid positions was the goal of the two brothers Bruno and Marcello Ceretto. This idea, derived from a trip to Burgundy, would prove to be correct for the family and make the wines Barolo and Barbaresco among the most appreciated in the world. A revolution, at the time, for a territory where the concept of cru was totally unknown, but above all, a brilliant intuition. A real struggle, theirs, undertaken with their father Riccardo, who bought the grapes to vinify them. "You are starting a difficult journey; the land has never created wealth for anyone," claimed Riccardo, but the stubborn Bruno and Marcello had no doubts: "we are 100% for the land; the winery certainly counts a little, but great wines are made with grapes." They then began to dream of labels that bear the name of the vineyard and also feature its photograph: "so that those who drink that wine have the vineyard it comes from before their eyes. The vineyard is history; the names of the hills remain over time, they do not change, and this strengthens the quality and credibility of the wines produced here. A vineyard can be sought, visited, touched, always." In 1986, The Wine Spectator, perhaps the most influential American magazine in the wine world, featured the two Langhe brothers on the cover, calling them Barolo Brothers. Bruno and Marcello were under 50, but they did not let themselves be overwhelmed by what is an official recognition, which everyone aspires to but few manage to achieve. Today they have stayed true to themselves, have not stopped dreaming, and continue to fight for a just goal. Meanwhile, the Langhe has grown with them and with those, like them, who place the name of the land that gave birth to them and accompanied them throughout their lives before their own name.
