The Aglianico del Vulture Superiore 'Storico' from Basilico is born from a garden-vineyard of 2 hectares where about 7,500 ultra-eighty-year-old, pre-phylloxera, own-rooted vines are cultivated in the age-old tradition, a true open-air museum of ancient viticulture. The character of these genetically exceptional vines, because they are ancient and not the result of clonal selections, is so unique that it gives rise to an unmistakable and extraordinary wine. The volcanic soils, constant ventilation, significant altitude, and exclusively manual work create this cru of rare excellence. Intense, substantial, and of deep ruby color. Notes of small red fruits, rose, and cardamom. Extremely persistent, silky tannins, and a lively and complex structure, the most refined expression of Vulture.
