Tuscany Red IGT 'Mormoreto' 2016 (750 ml.) Frescobaldi

Icon of the estate Castello di Nipozzano, the Mormoreto di Frescobaldi is a Supertuscan of rare elegance, born in 1983 from a historic vineyard planted in 1976, on sandy-loam soils rich in minerals at about 300 meters s.l.m.. The blend consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, international varieties planted 150 years ago that find here a unique territorial expression. The manual harvest is followed by fermentation in steel and a 24-month maturation in barrique, with subsequent aging in the bottle. The color is intense ruby red with garnet reflections. On the nose, it opens with complex notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, chocolate, spices, and mentholated balsamic. On the palate, it is rich, structured, and velvety, with mature tannins and a long and persistent finish. A wine of great longevity, ideal with important meat dishes or aged cheeses.

Nestled in the wonderful Tuscan lands, where time seems to have stopped to celebrate the beauty of nature and winemaking art, the winery Frescobaldi tells a story that spans generations. It is one of the oldest wine families in Italy, with roots that dig deep into a past rich in tradition and innovation. With a presence that embraces the most prestigious denominations of Tuscany, such as DOCG Chianti, Brunello, and Bolgheri, Frescobaldi stands out for a modern approach that never forgets to respect the history and the terroir that surrounds it.

The estates of Frescobaldi are a mosaic of winemaking excellence, where each vineyard is nurtured with dedication and love for the land. Here, under the warm Tuscan sun, Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are born, each an expression of a unique territory and unparalleled savoir-faire. The production philosophy of Frescobaldi is a perfect balance between tradition and innovation, where ancient wisdom blends with the most modern winemaking techniques to create wines with distinctive and unmistakable character.

Among the labels that make up the prestigious portfolio of Frescobaldi, the Nipozzano and CastelGiocondo stand out, two wines that embody the essence of Tuscany. The Nipozzano, with its enveloping structure and intense aromas, is the perfect companion for those wishing to explore the depth of Tuscan wines. The CastelGiocondo, on the other hand, is a Brunello di Montalcino with a refined and complex character, capable of narrating, sip by sip, the magic of a legendary territory.
