The Toscana Rosso 'Excelsus' by Banfi is produced only in great vintages. It is a Supertuscan that perfectly integrates the best tradition of merlot and cabernet sauvignon with the territory of Montalcino and with the tradition of Castello Banfi. An austere wine, of rare concentration and structure, whose maturation involves a passage in barrique for at least 20 months. The result is an intense wine that presents very fruity aromas accompanied by more complex notes of jam, spices, tobacco, and coffee. On the palate, it shows all its grandeur, with sweet tannins and very persistent flavors.
