Dolomiti Pinot Bianco IGT 'Versalto' 2021 (750 ml.) Alois Lageder
The 'Versalto' by Alois Lageder is a pure organic Pinot Bianco. The grapes used to produce it come partly from Pochi di Salorno, on the left orographic side of the Adige Valley, and partly from the vineyards of Penone, on the opposite side of the valley, just above the village of Magrè. Both plots extend to about 500 meters in altitude and provide ideal conditions for this grape variety. The wine is aged partly in steel and partly in wooden barrels for about 9 months. It is a white wine with a slightly aromatic bouquet, fruity, with mineral notes, and on the palate, it is moderately structured, full, elegant, rigorous, fresh, and dry. The ideal pairing is with appetizers, asparagus, fish, shellfish, white meats, and poultry.

THE WINE
The 'Versalto' by Alois Lageder is a pure organic Pinot Bianco. Both plots extend to about 500 meters in altitude, offering ideal conditions for this grape variety. The wine matures partly in steel and partly in wooden barrels for about 9 months. It is a white wine with a slightly aromatic, fruity bouquet, with mineral notes, and on the palate it is medium-structured, full, elegant, rigorous, fresh, and dry. The ideal pairing is with appetizers, asparagus, fish, shellfish, white meats, and poultry.

A true synonym of excellence, Alois Lageder has demonstrated over the years the best that South Tyrol can express in terms of personality, elegance, and territorial adherence. A result born from a clear vision of its work, where each activity is closely linked to the others in a virtuous circle that has been completed with the conversion of its vineyards to biodynamic practices.
Founded in 1823 and now in its sixth generation, the company stands out for its ability to blend tradition and innovation: “quality is always the result of many details, sometimes even minor ones - recalls Alois Lageder - and in all phases of processing we first seek to find harmony among all the factors involved, working in harmony with nature.” It is no coincidence that each wine manages, like few others in the region, to tell the always different characteristics of its vineyard of origin - South Tyrol is indeed an extremely rich land in soil variety, microclimatic areas, and exposures, which offers ideal conditions to produce wines with a strong individuality. The grapes harvested from the family-owned vineyards, about 50 hectares in Magrè, Cortaccia, Termeno, and around the lake of Caldaro, are cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods certified by Demeter. Furthermore, in addition to managing its own vineyards, the company collaborates with a number of trusted grape growers from different areas of South Tyrol, vineyards that collectively extend over another 110 hectares, of which about a quarter is cultivated according to biodynamic principles.
It is from this extraordinary context that wines are born that are true ambassadors of the territory, white and red wines of great charm that make up a selection composed of three quality levels: the Classics, the Terroir Selections, and the Masi.
