The 'Casg Annamh' Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Aberlour means 'rare cask' in Gaelic. It has a special character thanks to the combination of 3 different woods used during the aging process. The maturation indeed takes place in 1 European oak sherry cask and 2 different American oak casks. Complex, full-bodied, soft yet lively, with fruity notes of apple and oriental spices.

The carefully and skillfully cultivated malted barley is the key ingredient that gives life to Aberlour whiskies, celebrated for their rich and spicy complexity. THE DISTILLERY
Whisky is one of the most famous and consumed spirits worldwide, with origins traced back to Scotland and Ireland; these are indeed two countries where the cultivation of grains, from which whisky is fermented, was very common, and, along with other evidence and clues, nothing seems to doubt that the origin of this nectar lies precisely in these places. In particular, in Scotland, among many producing realities, there is one that boasts a history surrounded by an aura of mystery and legend: Aberlour, a distillery named after the homonymous location where it is situated. A special area, where a river flows whose waters were considered by ancient Celtic populations as healing; in fact, it was the Celts who first used these waters to distill the alcohol necessary to create healing elixirs for the sick. The distillery was founded by James Fleming in 1879; James took care of every little detail of the building, with the desire to create something unique, where the best Whiskies possible could be produced. James died in 1895, and from that moment, the ownership of Aberlour passed into the hands of various companies, until in 1975 it was purchased by the large group Pernod Ricard. Since then, many improvements have been made to the buildings and machinery, using new technologies that start from respecting history to move towards future prospects. Aberlour has a production of 6 labels, with different aging periods, ranging from a minimum of 12 years to a maximum of 18; some Whiskies also mature in the renowned “Sherry cask,” that is, casks that once contained the fine Portuguese fortified wine. A special note of merit goes to the “A’Bunadh” – a word meaning “original” in Gaelic – produced to pay homage to founder Fleming, distilled without any cold filtration or modern processes, but created solely following the oldest local traditions.
