'Golf 1927' Franciacorta Extra Brut - VIII Edition celebrates the pioneering spirit of Barone Edoardo Pizzini, who founded one of the first Italian golf clubs in 1927. Today, as then, innovation and respect for nature guide Barone Pizzini, the first producer of organic Franciacorta. This Extra Brut is velvety, enveloping, and full of character, made from only Chardonnay grapes grown at altitudes between 200 and 350 meters above sea level. Aged 20-30 months on the lees, it is perfect as an aperitif, but also excels with Culatello di Zibello, Grana Padano, shellfish, white meats, and delicate pastas. Barone Pizzini
The Barone Pizzini is one of the historic wineries of Franciacorta, known and esteemed for the quality and reliability of its cuvées. Founded in Provaglio d’Iseo in 1870 by Baron Giulio Pizzini Piomarta Von Thurberg, the winery is now led by a group of passionate Brescia entrepreneurs: Ugo Colombo, Piermatteo Ghitti, and Silvano Brescianini. In 1998, it was the first winery in Franciacorta to embrace the cause of organic viticulture and today, alongside the pursuit of quality and excellence, it continues its commitment to sustainable agriculture.
The vineyards of Barone Pizzini cover a total of 47 hectares divided into 25 plots among the municipalities of Provaglio, Corte Franca, Ado, and Passirado. They are rooted at about 200 meters above sea level and on partly morainic soils, enriched by fluvioglacial deposits. The cultivation methods are organic and aim for the harmonious balance of the plant, the production of well-characterized grapes, a guarantee of quality and health for the consumer, and the protection of the environment and territory. The harvested grapes are processed and vinified in an ultra-modern winery, built in 2006 according to eco-compatible architectural criteria, equipped with photovoltaic panels and natural conditioning systems.
From the lively and rigorous activity of the Barone Pizzini winery comes a rich and extraordinary range of Franciacorta sparkling wines, all of great quality and indissolubly linked to the territory. They are organic wines that retain and communicate a great charm, unmissable for all sparkling wine lovers.
