Villa Gemma Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC Superiore di Masciarelli is an icon of Abruzzo tradition, named after the typical cherry red color. Produced since 1986, it is made from 100% Montepulciano grapes grown at 400 m s.l.m. in S. Martino sulla Marrucina, on clay and limestone soils, using the Abruzzo pergola and Guyot training systems. After the destemming and crushing, the skins remain in contact with the must for 12 hours at low temperature, then ferment at controlled temperature and age on fine lees until bottling. The result is a fresh, savory, and vibrant rosé, with intense aromas of fresh cherries, sour cherries, and pomegranate. On the palate, it is persistent and harmonious, perfect for pairing with meat dishes, fish, tomato pasta, vegetables, pizza, and fried foods. An exemplary gastronomic wine that elegantly narrates the authenticity of the Abruzzo terroir.

Masciarelli Tenute Agricole
Masciarelli Tenute Agricole is synonymous with winemaking excellence in Abruzzo. Founded in 1981 by Gianni Masciarelli, a charismatic and visionary figure, the company revolutionized the way wine is understood in Abruzzo, bringing Montepulciano and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo to international stages. With over 60 vineyards distributed across the four provinces of Abruzzo, Masciarelli cultivates a deep bond with its land, enhancing its pedoclimatic characteristics to highlight the character of each individual grape variety.
Its seven lines – from Villa Gemma to the elegant Marina Cvetic – tell a story of Abruzzo made of hills, mountains, and sea breezes, where tradition, innovation, and sustainability coexist harmoniously. The beating heart of the company is San Martino sulla Marrucina (CH), but the Castle of Semivicoli, now a charming relais, represents the refined face of Abruzzo wine tourism.
Every Masciarelli bottle is a tribute to the biodiversity of the “Green Region of Europe” and today you can discover it also on Vino45, an exclusive selection of great Italian wines. For those seeking authenticity, elegance, and a story to drink.

Color: bright and intense cerasuolo, reminiscent of light ruby with pinkish hues. The clarity and chromatic vivacity testify to freshness and structure, distinctive characteristics of the Superiore type.
Bouquet: broad and fine, with fruity notes of ripe cherry, wild strawberries, and pomegranate, which intertwine harmoniously with floral sensations of dog rose and peony. More complex nuances of aromatic herbs, sweet almond, and a light spiciness emerge, indicating a well-calibrated aging.
Taste: full, enveloping, and well-balanced. The soft entry develops with pleasant freshness and a savory vein that supports the drinkability. The structure is solid yet fine, with a polished tannin and a retronasal return consistent with the olfactory profile, culminating in a long and fruity finish.
